The Challenge
AIT Home Delivery, part of AIT Worldwide Logistics, was running a high-volume, multi-depot home delivery network serving some of the UK’s largest retailers including Asda, Dunelm, Samsung, Electrolux, and Amazon. Managing an operation at that scale, with clients connecting via different methods (API, EDI, and manual entry), meant their existing systems were struggling to keep pace. They needed a single platform that could bring together order booking, warehouse operations, real-time driver tracking, end-customer communications, and finance, all while integrating cleanly with each client’s own technology.
The Solution
Logicc built an end-to-end track and trace platform that manages the full delivery journey: from order intake (via API, EDI or manual form entry) through warehouse barcode scanning and multi-depot order booking, to real-time driver tracking via a dedicated Android app and a self-service portal where end customers can follow their delivery. Multi-depot volume shaping tools give operations teams control over load distribution, while automated bulk SMS and transactional email keep customers informed at every stage. A finance automation system handles billing across the client base.
The Results
The platform now supports over 100 daily operational users and generates over 100 operational reports, giving management the visibility they need to run the operation day to day. It integrates with AIT’s wider technology ecosystem including route planning software, warehouse management systems, SAP, and QlikView dashboards, as well as carrier platforms such as Metapack and Scurri, with direct connections to major clients including Asda, Dunelm, Samsung, Electrolux, BSH/Bosch, Silentnight, and Amazon.
